Over the summer Caterpillar Crafts teamed up with Hampshire’s Country Park’s to deliver some exciting fully inclusive family fun days. These included Pirates of the Country Park, Steam Day, Love Nature, Batty For Bats & Big Bug Hunt!

Each of the days we had a meet and greet area where families could register and receive our V.I.P tags which gave them access to our activities throughout the day & could also be used at our other events to receive discounted tickets!

Our themed days kicked off with various outdoor ranger led activities including;

Mini Beast Hunts, Pond Dipping, Seashore Safari or Rock Pooling! Families found loads of creatures from tadpoles to crabs, worms to centipedes, and one particularly big beetle who kept trying to eat all the other creatures! Kids thought that was great...yikes!

After all that fun and breaking for lunch in either the country parks fantastic Cafes or picnic areas there were other fab activities on offer such as Pirate Beach Art using natural materials collected on the seashore.

Chances to experience Queen Elizabeth Country Park's range of specially adapted Bikes – of course the motorised 2 seated bike proved most popular and we thank Sarah Walker of CTC for her time in training us to use them!

Royal Victoria Country Parks Miniature Railway Rides were most enjoyable, families also got the chance to look round a steam engine and kids were thrilled when we had Batman & Robin making a guest appearance on our Batty For Bats day!

As an extra treat ‘Sally’ our very talented face painter was on hand most days to paint faces FREE of charge to children wearing our V.I.P tags!

We had a selection of exciting trails to follow around the parks which gave families a great opportunity to explore the countryside! Children were delighted to claim their prize once they had solved the clues and cracked the codes!

Families had the opportunity to create ‘WOW’ crafts including:  Funky Wooden Pirate Mobiles, Fantastic Flying Tropical Birds, Batty Bat Torches with Cave Box, & Crazy Caterpillar Magnify Glass Room Plaques!! All of our ‘WOW crafts proved a big hit with our families and are sure to be treasured and played with at home!
